Dear
Educator,
Several years ago I made a personal
decision to dedicate a good part of my time
giving back to the community through our
nonprofit and by working with local schools
and day cares. The American Black Belt
Association was one of the first to begin
teaching in colleges back in the 60's and was
the first to get karate approved by state
departments of education to be taught as an
accredited program in high schools. Now we are
also giving back to local elementary and
middle schools
through our free after school programs. In
fact it is a fund raiser for the schools,
because we charge $20 and donate 100% of the
funds to the school.
Our high school Streetwise Success program
is currently being taught as an accredited
class in many high schools across the country.
In addition, we now have select colleges that
are offering partial scholarships to our
students so they can continue their studies
and pursue their martial arts training after
completing high school.
As a community service we offer free
self-defense and anti-bullying programs in the
community. For more information feel free to
contact me at kyoshibryan@juno.com.
Respectfully,
Terry Bryan, Ph.D.
P.S. Additionally, we provide programs
resources to area schools including:
A. Gym Teacher for the Day.
B. Show and Tell
C. Career Days
D. Foreign Culture Days
E. Teacher Training in:
- 1. Bully strategies
- 2. Non-Violent Self-Defense
- 3. Teacher communications skills
